I'm Melvin, and as you might have guessed correctly - Mama Sim, otherwise called affectionately as "Choosy", is my mum. I'm the eldest of three children, and I have two younger sisters. We grew up with homecooked food almost every day, completed with soup for the soul that has been on the boil for hours. Accompanying all these is Choosy's homemade chilli sauce that we dip almost everything in. It’s nothing fancy, but it’s fulfilling, it’s familiar, and it’s family.
On good days and not-so-good days, Choosy’s food always hits home. The doors of our home have welcomed many friends who want to have a taste of homecooked food, and they have ever since returned for the food and of course, the chilli, over and over again.
While this little store is created to sell Choosy’s chilli, it’s really to celebrate our mum. This is a little something from us to her. Like our friends, we hope you will come back again and again.
Pure goodness and hotness without preservatives
Each order is freshly made, and no preservatives are added. On top of this, in playing our part to be more environmentally conscious, every order is bottled in a clean, and recycled jar. Interestingly, some of these jars are jam bottles from all over the world!

How long can we keep the chilli for?

There isn’t a prescribed period, but it can typically last for months. Please store the chilli in these conditions to maximise its longevity and shelf life:
- Always keep it refrigerated
- Always help yourself to a new serving from the main bottle with a clean spoon (no saliva contact)
What can we eat this chilli with?

It’s an everyday dipping sauce for us because there will always be saucers of Choosy’s chilli on our dining table. From more than 30 years of experience, we can humbly share that Choosy’s chilli is superb with fried fish, fried rice, steamboat (especially during Chinese New Year) and yong tau foo.
How will the chilli be bottled?

Every order will be bottled in a clean, recycled jar, so don’t be surprised if some of your jars are in quirky shapes!

How far in advance should I put an order before delivery?

Three days in advance will be great, and we will drop you a message once your order has been confirmed.
How can I make a payment?

We are currently not on Shopify Payments, so all payments will be done through PayNow via +65 9274 7376. Please keep a screengrab of the transaction for future references, and we will also write to you after receiving your payment.
What are the delivery options like?

There are a few ways to do it:
- For all orders more than SGD 50, we will deliver for free.
- For all orders less than SGD 50, the standard delivery fee is SGD 25.
- You are more than welcomed to do a self-collection, and our postal code is 640260.
